    Quote of The Day #180

" Throughout my life I have learned an important lesson, you have to always be looking ahead, learning from the past and thinking out of the box. "

" What have I learned from philanthropy ? That it's no different from business. To be successful you have to be focused, have a plan, and stick to it with the help of a great team "

" There can be no greater cause than to save the life of a child and ensure that child's future in our global society. We all have a responsibility to get involved and make a difference. I call on entrepreneurs everywhere to be this difference-to be a powerful force for good in the world by participating in the Nourish the Children initiative."

" Life is not just about making a lot of money, but about being part of a bigger picture. Let's get serious about returning something to society"

'How do you know Jesus is speaking...'

Perhaps the most often question asked me about the movie and the book "The Cross" is: 'How do you know Jesus is speaking to you and leading you?'

Over and again in the movie I speak of Jesus telling me to go somewhere or say something. I felt Jesus speak to me to take the cross from off the wall of the building in Hollywood, California and put it on my shoulder and carry it on foot across America and identify His message in the streets where the people are. Later He led me nation to nation and to all the nations and major island groups of the world. How?

Here are just a few of the Words of Jesus on this subject.

"And when He (Jesus) brings out His own sheep, He goes before them: and the sheep follow Him, for they know His Voice."
"My sheep hear My Voice, and I know them and they follow Me."

    John 10:4, 27

How does a child know its mother and its father's voice? Because the child has spent 'time' with them. When the baby was hungry, its cries brought mama. In the night when the babe felt alone or fearful, its cry brought daddy. The child learned to know the voice of its mother and father.

I remember my mother calling out to me as I played in the yard as a child "Son, it's supper time." I knew her voice. Oh so many times I would call home from around the world from some far away distant land. I would hear the phone ring and then hear my mother say 'Hello'. Oh that voice sounded so good. It was my mother. I knew her voice. When she heard me speak she would say 'Son, that's you'!

I can hardly type this as tears are pouring from my eyes and draining down my face. What I would give to hear her voice again. Oh, I have recordings of her voice but it's not like the real thing.

In the second chapter of the book I speak of hearing the Voice of Jesus when I was a child and turning right and turning left in the cotton field. Jesus has led me around the world the same way.

I do not hear an audible voice but in my heart and mind I often hear Jesus speaking. How do I know that voice is Jesus? Because since I was a child I have been hearing Jesus speak and lead me. His Voice is clear and beautiful. It is the Holy Spirit speaking. We must learn to obey and not quench the Spirit, and live so that we do not grieve the Spirit. But what if I make a mistake? The Father corrects us and the Spirit convicts us. You learn by obedience. We have the Holy Bible and for sure the Voice of Jesus and the Holy Spirit do not conflict with the Word. Jesus will not lead you to steal etc. But if it does not conflict with the Word then my motto is do it! The Devil will not be leading you to share Jesus with someone or to pray or go on a mission trip to be a witness for Jesus.

I had rather fail seeking to obey than to set doing nothing. There are many looking for open doors and confirmations and words prophesied, but still we have the Words of Jesus where He says His sheep hear His Voice. I encourage you to listen and obey.

My heart's passion and mission in life is to Hear the Voice of Jesus and obey.

Should you want to do a real study of the subject then I suggest you go to my website at this link: http://www.blessitt.com/?q=arthur_blessitt_weekly_archive. Then scroll down to: 'knowing the will of God (and doing it)'. I have done an eight part study on this. It will help you live out your destiny.

Because after having made the decision to follow Jesus and do His will and mission, then you are faced with how you live this out. Say you feel the call to the mission field. Then which nation do you go to? What does Jesus want me to do there?

People who have watched the movie are moving out to 'do' and 'live' their own calling and journey. I pray this has encouraged you. Welcome Jesus to speak to you, His child, and then say 'Yes'!

I'm praying for you. Jesus has you on earth for this time! Jesus is with you and all power is in His Hands. Jesus has promised to be with you. What more do you need? Nothing!

Peace and blessings on your journey.

    Dear Reader,

Our cover story in Asia this week gives warning of a chain reaction of proliferation that could result from North Korea's nuclear antics; if China is at all serious about joining America as a global leader, this is the time for it to shoulder its responsibility by helping to punish Kim Jong Il. Elsewhere, our cover leader gives an early warning of a different sort: the danger that a bigger role for government could pose for American business. Barack Obama, and his Democratic allies in Congress, risk overreaching in their zeal to sort out America's troubles. By all means Mr Obama should fix the flaws of America's free-market capitalism, but he should not take its dynamism for granted. That dynamism, argues our special report in this issue, means that American business should emerge from the recession leaner and stronger than ever.

Here are some other pieces from this week's issue you might also be interested in. You can click straight through to each one and read it online at Economist.com using the links below.

    He Fulfills His Promises

    TODAY'S SCRIPTURE

"For all of God’s promises have been fulfilled in Christ with a resounding “Yes!” And through Christ, our “Amen” (which means “Yes”) ascends to God for his glory"
    (II Corinthians 1:20, NLT).

TODAY'S WORD from Joel and Victoria

What is it in your life that you used to be excited about? Are there dreams that you’ve pushed down, goals that you’ve let go of? Too often, because those dreams seem to be taking a long time, or because we’ve been through some disappointments, we become complacent. It’s easy to just accept the fact that “it’s probably not going to happen for me.” But just because you gave up doesn’t mean God gave up. God never aborts a dream. He always fulfills His promises! That dream He placed in your heart may be pushed down by disappointments, setbacks, failures, or rejection. But know this; the seed is still alive.

The promise is still in you. You just need to get your fire back! That dream may look like it’s dead in the ground, but really, it’s just been planted. That means it’s coming back. It’s going to flourish! Our attitude should be “This may be taking a long time, and maybe I don’t see how it could happen, but I know God already has the completion date. I’m not going to give up on my dreams. I’m not going to go through life without goals, passion, or enthusiasm. No, I’m getting my vision back because I know God fulfills His promises!

    A PRAYER FOR TODAY

Heavenly Father, thank You for Your faithfulness to me! I ask that You breathe life into every dream and desire in my heart. I trust You with the unknowns and believe that You are working all things out for my good. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.

He is the Author and Finisher

    TODAY'S SCRIPTURE

"Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith…"
    (Hebrews 12:1-2a, NKJ).

TODAY'S WORD from Joel and Victoria

Do you ever feel like there are major obstacles in your path to fulfilling your destiny? Maybe you don’t see how you could ever accomplish your dreams, or how you can get well, or how a legal situation will ever get resolved. Maybe the negative thoughts are telling you “It’s over. Just accept it. It’s never going to get any better.” But my encouragement to you is that God is a faithful God! He’s called the Author and the Finisher of our faith. God will never start something that He cannot finish. That promise He put in your heart—that you’re going to be healed, that you’re coming out of debt, that your family will be restored—God has every intention of bringing those promises to pass.

When God put the dream in your heart, He already had a completion date. He can already see it done. You may not see how it can happen. It may be taking a long time. All the odds are against you. But if you’ll just keep believing, keep praying, and keep being your best, then God promises He is going to finish what He started in you!

    A PRAYER FOR TODAY

Father God, thank You for being the Author and Finisher of my faith. I choose to submit every area of my mind, will, and emotions to You. I invite You to have Your way in me and complete what You’ve started in my life. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.

    Sunday Is On the Way

    TODAY'S SCRIPTURE

"They will flog Him and kill Him; and on the third day He will rise again"
    (Luke 18:33, AMP).

TODAY'S WORD from Joel and Victoria

Every year all over the world, people honor Good Friday as they day Jesus was crucified. It was the darkest, most painful, discouraging day of His life. To others, it looked as if it was over. It looked as if His enemies had gotten the best of Him. But God had other plans. Jesus’ enemies put Him in the grave on Friday celebrating their victory, but Sunday morning was a different story. The grave could not hold Him. Death couldn’t contain Him. The forces of darkness couldn’t stop Him. On the third day, Jesus came out of the grave and He said, “I was dead, but now I am alive forevermore.”

One principle that the resurrection teaches us is that God will always finish what He started. No matter how dark it looks, no matter how long it’s been, no matter how many people are trying to push you down; if you will stay in faith, God will always take you from Friday to Sunday. You will see your day of breakthrough because God will complete what He started.

If you are going through a dark time today, remember that your day of resurrection, your “Sunday” is on the way! Keep standing, keep believing, because soon you will rise up into the higher places He has in store for you!

    A PRAYER FOR TODAY

    Joel Osteen Ministries
Today's Word with Joel and Victoria

    Leave the Way Open

    TODAY'S SCRIPTURE

"Beloved, never avenge yourselves, but leave the way open for [God's] wrath; for it is written, Vengeance is Mine, I will repay (requite), says the Lord"
    (Romans 12:19, AMP).

TODAY'S WORD from Joel and Victoria

We all go through situations where we’re not being treated fairly. Maybe somebody is talking behind your back or trying to make you look bad, maybe you were overlooked for a promotion or cheated in a business deal. When we’re being mistreated, the natural thing is to try to defend ourselves and set the record straight. Human nature wants to get even and get revenge. But the scripture says, “Vengeance is Mine… says the Lord.” That means God wants to make your wrongs right. He wants to pay you back for every unfair thing that has happened. He is a God of justice.

Notice what today’s scripture says: you can either avenge yourself or you can let God be your avenger, but you can’t have it both ways. If you take matters into your own hands, then God is going to step back and say, “Go ahead, do it your way. Looks like you don’t need My help.” But on the other hand, if we choose to stay on the high road and say, “No, I’m going to let God be my avenger and trust God to bring justice into my life”, then you are leaving the way open for God to move mightily on your behalf!

    A PRAYER FOR TODAY

Heavenly Father, I humbly come to You asking that You be my vindicator. I choose to release all those who have hurt me and every wrong done to me. Fill me with your peace and love. I trust that You are working on my behalf, and I look for Your goodness in my life. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.

    Dear Reader,

At last some good news to celebrate. The world's biggest election and its unexpectedly decisive result has given India's Congress party a precious chance to modernise one of the emerging world's giants—and thus improve the lives of hundreds of millions of extremely poor people. Less cash, we argue, should go to subsidies and more to much-needed infrastructure. India is on our cover in most of our editions, but in Britain we try to draw some conclusions from Parliament's expenses drama. This week the speaker of the House of Commons was obliged to resign, the first such ouster since 1695. In our opinion Britain's legislature needs a vigorous cleansing, but now is the wrong time to redesign government—or to hold a snap election.

Here are some other pieces from this week's issue you might also be interested in. You can click straight through to each one and read it online at Economist.com using the links below.

+164% in a decade and more to come

A £1,000 face-value stamp? What could you possibly send for £1,000?

Such a stamp was issued in 1882.

Its main purpose was to dispatch letters and packages to the furthest reaches of the British Empire.

As you might imagine, very few of these were printed and very few were used. The price prohibited people collecting them, and stamp collecting as a hobby had yet to become fashionable.

But they are very much in fashion now.

You see...this stamp is a staple stamp for all collectors of Great Britain. If you are a collector of British stamps then you will have a stamp album with a space crying out for this stamp.

And it's such a striking design that it's a space that demands to be filled.

Of course, that's reflected in the pricing... But they're not as expensive as you might think.

You could have purchased a very fine used example from us in 1999 for £1,700. A very fine used example will now cost you up to £4,500.

    That's a 164% increase in a little over a decade.

Considering the rarity, we believe this price is still cheap... And we expect the demand for this stamp to grow.

The stamp I'm talking about is the Victorian £5 Orange issued in 1882. £5 in 1882 is equivalent to roughly £1,000 in today's money.

These stamps are increasingly hard to find in top condition.

I'll give you an idea how rare these stamps are.

Here's a comparison: over 68 million Penny Blacks were printed, the world's first postage stamp in 1840.

But less than 250,000 £5 Oranges were printed.

This is why we recommend the £5 Orange for investment...

Mint examples are selling for record figures.

5 years ago we sold a superb mint example of the £5 Orange for £6,000.

That very same stamp recently set a world record price at auction in London. It sold for £15,270. That's a 154.5% return in 5 years.

The £5 Orange was also voted the 6th most popular stamp design in a poll of stamp collectors.

For over 100 years the £5 Orange remained the highest denomination British stamp.

Again, few were printed, few were used.

Used examples are also highly sought after.

Prices for used examples have rocketed 164% in the last decade.

And remember how rare this stamp is... To explain it another way 270,000 Penny Blacks were printed for every one £5 Orange printed.

The story is simple to understand.  In short, if you get the opportunity to purchase one and tuck it away we suggest you do so.

We've tracked down five very fine used £5 Oranges which are now held in Stanley Gibbons' stock.

Each one has been authenticated by our team of experts and is sold with the famous Stanley Gibbons guarantee of authenticity.

1882 £5 Orange Pl.1. Very fine used example lettered BN, neatly cancelled by a crisp Western Central District Office cds for OC.9.1884. Most attractive.
    Price: £4,250

1882 £5 Orange Pl.1. Very fine used example lettered CK, neatly cancelled by a crisp Bath cds for JA.25.1900.
    Most attractive.
    Price: £4,500

1882 £5 orange plate.1. Very fine used example lettered CG neatly cancelled by a perfectly struck Edinburgh cds for FE.13.1896. Most attractive.
    Price: £4,250

1882 £5 Orange Pl.1. Very fine used well centred example lettered AH, neatly cancelled by a Sheffield cds for MR.2.1900.Most attractive.
    Price: £4,250

1882 £5 Orange Pl.1 (White paper). Very fine used well centred example lettered CM, neatly cancelled by a superb Edinburgh cds for NO.22.1894.
    Most attractive.
    Price: £4,500

Remember, very fine used examples are up 164% in the last 10 years alone.

You have two options when you invest with Stanley Gibbons.
    1. Place the stamp on a Guaranteed Minimum Return Contract. We have availability on 5 year contracts at 4% per annum (returns a minimum 20% capital gain at the end of the contract period), up to 10 year contracts at 5% per annum (returns a minimum 50% capital gain at the end of the contract period). We say 'minimum return', as the upside is unlimited. If over the next decade prices increase 164%, as they have over the last 10 years, you'll do much better than the 5% per annum we guarantee.
    2. Place the stamp in an Active Management Portfolio. You will receive a 10% discount on the listed price. The item is then re-listed at the full price on the www.stanleygibbons.com website with over 4 million visitors each year. It is also included in direct mailings to our ever growing collector-base. When the stamp re-sells we split the profits with you. This equates to a 5.5% return if the stamp is re-sold in the first year.
A recent survey concluded that 89.66% of our investors would recommend our products to fellow investors.
The £5 orange is an excellent stamp to consider.
    Remember:
    • Voted the 6th most popular design ever
    • Record Prices being set at auction
    • +164% in the last decade (very fine used example)
    • Limited supply
It's a beautiful stamp to add to a portfolio... and don't forget... every Great Britain collector needs one for their own collection so there is a heavy demand for this stamp.
Only 250,000 £5 orange's were printed, of which very few have survived the past 127 years.
If you are considering a rare stamp investment please contact me. I'll happily explain your options in more detail.
